Clove (Syzygium aromaticum) has a sweet, spicy fragrance that is stimulating and revitalizing. An important ingredient in Young Living's Thieves blend, due to its wonderful immune-enhancing properties. Clove oil's principal constituent is eugenol, which is used in the dental industry to numb the gums. It is also the main ingredient in my Children's Teething Oil Blend, which can also be used for toothaches. Always dilute for topical use.
Clove is the highest-scoring single ingredient ever tested for its antioxidant capacity on the ORAC scale. Clove may also be used to enhance the flavor of foods. It is one of the ingredients in my Applesauce Cake recipe!
